Drexler’s serves as Portland’s go-to for vintage sneaker heads. The shop didn’t get their overnight though and needed some help gaining some attention in the local community.
I played the role of social media manager to let everyone know about the store’s opening and boost the hype around the brand. Under my time, I gained the first 1,200 followers by creating aesthetic content and promoting giveaway events with paid social campaigns.
GIveAWAY Campaigns
People love free stuff. With this in mind, what better way to bring in extra attention to a small shop looking to grow than run a few giveaway campaigns?
THE FIRST, a rare pair of Laker’s Nikes, was promoted through Facebook Ads on both Facebook and Instagram. I used a video as well as a graphic (both seen below) as the main content while using targeting parameters to target surrounding Portland areas, ages 18-35, with targeted interests. This campaign got us to 480 followers on Instagram alone while spending only $100.
THE SECOND, promoted a custom pair of Drexler’s shoes and a Bear Brick during a 7 day countdown event to opening day. Before opening day more than 400 followers flooded in using solely due to the video and photo content targeting the right tags on social.
Creative Gallery
The selection below represents examples of my work in photography and dabbling in graphic design while running Drexler’s social media. I aimed to create aesthetic photos, engaging videos and use my left-brain skills for creative direction on a minimal budget.
